Bathroom Exhaust Replacement
After a year an a half, I decided to change the old, dirty exhaust fan that was already installed in my bathroom. At 1st, I was under the impression that it would be an easy swap. To my surprise, I had to replace the unit from the Attic. Now, that wouldn't be an issue, but I had wood boards covering most of the Attic for storage convenience and use.
I gathered all my tools ( I need a tool belt) and climbed up the latter into the Attic. I moved stuff around, I located the existing Attic fan and cleared the surrounding insulation.
After exposing the old unit, it was a simple bolt off and replace process. I undid the existing wire set up, removed electrical tape & easily remove the old unit exposing the hole into my bathroom from the attic.
Luckily, with no help from the Lowes guys, I purchase the correct dimension exhaust fan. This replacement was a totally upgrade because this unit came with a light. Very cool.
I rewired the unit, screwed the box in place, added some electrical tape and added duck tape to the vent unit that escapes out to the roof.
It took me about an hour - only because I returned for additional tools several times. That sucked! Did I say I needed a tool belt?
See some pictures I took with my Motorola SLVR 7!
